B.ED. EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING

Philosophy

The relevance of any educational system is adjudged from its ability to meet the needs of the society. This philosophy has therefore guided the design and development of the educational management and planning programme of the Centre for Distance Learning. Attention is focused on providing specific knowledge and skills to teachers who would be expected to impact same to their students in secondary schools and colleges.

Objectives

  • To produce graduate teachers in specific science subjects who would contribute positively to the existing system of education.
  • To produce highly motivated, conscientious, research oriented and efficient classroom teachers.
  • To encourage the spirit of enquiry and creativity in teachers.
  • To produce teachers who would understand the concept of teaching as applied to the classroom.
  • To produce relevant schools’ supervisors and administrators.

 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The admission requirements are in conformity with what is obtained for the full time programs in respect of Direct Entry i.e. 200 levels as follows:

  • Diploma or HND Certificate in relevant field from a recognized institution with a minimum of lower credit pass.
  • A good NCE Certificate on any relevant filed from a recognized institution.
  • Two A’ level credit passes in relevant field.
  • Five O’level credit passes in GCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB or Grade II Certificate in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

 Duration:                      A maximum of Ten (10) Semesters
